For each Nepali this year will bring great opportunity in Nepal. This campaign will establish Nepal as a choice of premier holiday destination with a definite brand image. This will improve and extend tourism related infrastructures in existing and new tourism sites. And above All this will promote domestic tourism for sustainability of industry. Thousands of Nepalese depend on the Tourism Industry and new-comers will also be benefited in this Industry at that time.
After suffering for long time due political ups and down of the country, Nepal has again been able to show her beauty, culture to the world. And it’s tranquil news for all Nepalese living in Nepal or abroad. All people indulged in tourism Business are working to make it successful and are trying to improve their areas of concerned like in trekking, rafting, hotels etc. Whether it can be Internet campaigns, various print media, hoardings or other means of advertisement, but plans are being made and implemented to make this campaign successful.
If it will be evaluated, except the government and organizations indulged or depended on tourism industry no local people have shown the interest that is expected by the country. It was a time when visit Nepal’98 was organized each Nepali had the excitement and enthusiasm to do something by which as much as tourist can come in their country. In fact in a survey it was found that some people of Nepal who are indulged in the Tourism business don’t know that there is any such campaign has been planned. And Terai region has been seen completely behind in this promotion.
Terai region has always been popular in world for the Maithili culture and civilization. Mithila the birth place of Hindu goddess, Sita, is the region of the most ancient civilization and culture. Janakpur is believed to be Janaka's old capital. The Janakas were known to verse in the knowledge of the Atman, and remained free from attachments even while living as householders and rulers. Now, Janakpur is a Hindu pilgrimage site with legendary history. People come to Janakpur from all over the world to see the Janaki Mandir, a Mogul- style temple dedicated to Sita. On the other side, Hindus from India and other neighbouring countries visit Janakpur for pilgrimage.
All organizations related to government, tourism industry, social as well as business institutions, are said to be working to make change the conflict situation of the region but still no improvement has been founded. Not only this in all promotional tools lots of clips of adventures, hilly regions, safaris, some temples have been shown but none of the clips have symbolized the terai region of Nepal. There is no doubt that this is a negligence done by both the government as well as the board of Tourism. This definitely can increase the variation in hearts of Terai and Hilly people.
In the same way, there are some mistakes that can be noticed in Terai people too. There are so many groups in the region who do kidnap their own Nepali brothers and sisters and also do such activities which are against harmony and peace. This is harmful to all people living either in Terai region or in the hilly region as whole this is harmful for the entire Nepalese people. No tourist will dare to go to such region where there is no security of life and wealth.
Mithila was said to be the land of peace. The Mithila region is rich with culture and traditions. The land has given birth to many intellectuals in history. And if evaluated in present days too, the same result can be seen. So this land does not deserve negligence from her people. The Land of Mithila needs attention of the government, non-government organization along with the individual Nepalese living in or out of the country.
